Baseball Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

Danville was the 4-2 winner over Wapello when they last played one another back in June of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Monday. Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Indians since on Monday.

Danville has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Wapello, their win ended a 20-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-15.

Danville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Central Lee on the 1st. As for Wapello, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 loss against Highland on the 1st.
