Softball Recap: Soldotna Takes a Loss

Soldotna and Sitka squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Soldotna had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Stars have suffered since April 24th.

Soldotna's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5-1. As for Sitka, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-14-4 record this season.

Soldotna will take on Kenai Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Kardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.13 runs per game on average), something the Stars will no doubt try to take advantage of. Sitka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
