Soccer Game Preview: Yuma Catholic vs. Bourgade Catholic

The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks will face off against the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Yuma Catholic knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Bourgade Catholic likes a good challenge.

Yuma Catholic's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Empire 4-0. Considering the Shamrocks have won 12 matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gean Lagarda and Van Winburn scored all four of Yuma Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 41 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bourgade Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Benjamin Franklin 2-1.

Yuma Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 79 goals over those ten games. As for Bourgade Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Yuma Catholic skirted past Bourgade Catholic 2-1 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does Yuma Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bourgade Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
