Softball Recap: Houston Gets the Win

Houston proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Brighton Cardinals 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Houston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Brighton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston will host St. Benedict at Auburndale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brighton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Tipton Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m.
