Recap: R.W. Goines Stem Academy vs. Dynamic Prep
It was a good run, but R.W. Goines Stem Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 51-41 to Dynamic Prep. While losing is never fun, R.W. Goines Stem Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Dynamic Prep is ranked third).
Leon Horner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dynamic Prep, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Horner has scored at least 25% of Dynamic Prep's points. Jaylen Washington was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and three steals.
R.W. Goines Stem Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Dynamic Prep, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
R.W. Goines Stem Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Legacy School of Sport Sciences on January 9th. Dynamic Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Shabach Christian Academy at 9:00 p.m. on January 13th.
