Softball Recap: McClintock Takes a Loss

McClintock lost a heartbreaker to Marcos de Niza when they met back in March of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Wednesday. The McClintock Chargers fell just short of the Marcos de Niza Padres by a score of 9-7. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Padres: they've now lost three in a row.

Trinity Sepulveda and Stefanie McCarty did some serious damage despite the final result: Sepulveda went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while McCarty scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That triple marked the first that Sepulveda hit this season. Nora Fincher was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Even though they lost, McClintock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

McClintock's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Marcos de Niza, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

McClintock has already played their next contest (against Alhambra), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marcos de Niza will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Mary's at 3:45 p.m. on March 25th.
