Basketball Recap: Patuxent Comes Up Short

Patuxent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were dealt a 77-44 loss at the hands of the Leonardtown Raiders. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-12.

Patuxent's loss came despite strong showings from Kamauri Jones and Andrew Marburger. Jones went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points, while Marburger went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points. Those 24 points gave Jones a new career-high.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leonardtown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Windell, who went 8 of 16 en route to 16 points in addition to six steals and five assists. The contest was Windell's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameson Dyson, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Patuxent's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Leonardtown, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Patuxent wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-27 loss against Great Mills on the 30th. As for Leonardtown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-67 win against St. Charles on the 29th.
