Volleyball Recap: Granada's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Granada and Flatirons Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Granada had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 3-2. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Granada took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 13-25, 25-17, 15-9.

Dayzriana Quintana paced Granada's offense, picking up 20 kills. Quintana got some help from Kinsley Williams and her 40 assists. Quintana was also a major player on defense: she and Camryn Coleman shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with six each.

Tessa Miller was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Granada's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Flatirons Academy, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2.

Granada has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Plateau Valley on the 14th. As for Flatirons Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Merino on the 14th.
