Baseball Recap: Inglewood Sets Scoring Season-High Against Morningside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Inglewood). They put the hurt on the Morningside Monarchs with a sharp 19-3 win on Tuesday. The Sentinels have beaten the Monarchs the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Monarchs has come to flipping the script.

Inglewood got a massive performance out of Omar Robles, who got three hits. The dominant performance also gave Robles a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Wesley Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Robles wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Inglewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Inglewood picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Morningside, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Inglewood will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Monarchs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
