League recap: McDonogh 35 wins, gets boost in standings

McDonogh 35 was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 4A District 9. The Roneagles vanquished Archbishop Shaw 34-21 earlier in the week.

Karr extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Belle Chasse, 33-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Cougars.

Karr's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kerry Taylor has thrown for 53 yards this season, while Devante Noil has one catch for 29 yards. Noil leads the league in rushing with 236 yards.

A big matchup in 4A District 9 this week will be when O. Perry Walker takes on the Cardinals. The Chargers are currently in first, while Belle Chasse is in fifth.

O. Perry Walker took down Cox 39-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
