Volleyball Recap: Natomas Takes a Loss

Natomas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rio Linda Knights. If the Nighthawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Natomas sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-12, 19-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-10.

Rio Linda found their leader in sophomore Melody Xiong, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Natomas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Rio Linda, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Natomas has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against El Camino on the 18th. As for Rio Linda, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Woodland on the 18th.
