After losing to East Nicolaus the last time they met, Lincoln decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Fighting Zebras blew past the Spartans 13-1 on Saturday. Considering the Fighting Zebras have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Billy Bass looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brock Galer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Cook, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Nicolaus only posted an OBP of .333.

Lincoln's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for East Nicolaus, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Coming up, Lincoln will be taking part in a tournament against Rio Linda at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Zebras' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Nicolaus, they will head out on the road to face off against Winters at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
