Volleyball Recap: Basha Bears vs. Sunnyslope Vikings

Basha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sunnyslope Vikings. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Basha wouldn't go down easily and took Sunnyslope into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Dalton Tourville-Perparos paced Basha's offense, picking up 23 kills. Tourville-Perparos got some help from Taytem Tunney and his 36 assists. Tunney and Tourville-Perparos didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Basha now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Sunnyslope, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Basha wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Perry on the 17th. As for Sunnyslope, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Corona del Sol on the 17th.
