Football Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Ramona Bulldogs

For the first time this season, San Pasqual will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the Ramona Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

San Pasqual is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-0 win over Fallbrook. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

San Pasqual's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Renteria led the charge by throwing for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Dylan Bachoua helped Renteria out on the ground, rushing for 38 yards and one TD, while also picking up 78 receiving yards.

San Pasqual didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chris Shamshoum and Jonathan Leon. Landen Lockwood was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jordan Simmons, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ramona, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Mt. Carmel by a score of 28-18 on Friday.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for San Pasqual, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

San Pasqual was able to grind out a solid win over Ramona in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 20-7. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
