Baseball Recap: New Berlin West Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Milwaukee last Saturday, New Berlin West came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Hustlin' Hawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Elijah Gammage made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. Daniel Kibler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

New Berlin West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Greenfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

The future could be bright for both New Berlin West and Greenfield: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Vikings will look to extend Pius XI Catholic's three-game losing streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Greenfield will try to hand Wauwatosa East their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
