Volleyball Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles
Evergreen had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it eight. They lost 3-0 to the Dakota Ridge Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Anabelle Wyatt paced Evergreen's offense, picking up ten kills. Wyatt got some help from Ela Vanberschot and her 11 assists. Vanberschot was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
As for Dakota Ridge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Katherine Weiser was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 13 assists and three digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last three times she's played. Taylor Deren also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
