Basketball Recap: Franklin Central Flashes vs. Pike Red Devils
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin Central can now relate to. They fell 61-50 to the Pike Red Devils on Saturday. The Flashes were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Franklin Central still got an impressive performance from Payton Duvall, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Duvall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Huotari, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and three steals.

The defeat snapped Franklin Central's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-10 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Pike, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Franklin Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pike, they have already played their next game, a 46-43 win against Bloomington South on the 22nd.
