Baseball Recap: Akron Rams vs. Otis Bulldogs
Akron and Otis squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Akron had to settle for second. They fell 8-5 to the Otis Bulldogs. Akron was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Otis apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.
Brock Swedlund was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Caleb Poss was another key contributor, going 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI.
On Otis' side, Tayte Smith was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Smith is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Wells, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Akron's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Otis, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
As of now, neither Akron nor Otis have any future games scheduled.
