Soccer Recap: Lynwood Comes Up Short

Lynwood lost against Paramount on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lynwood Knights fell just short of the Paramount Pirates by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 701st, while the Pirates are ranked 146th).

Julien Esquivel and Alain Hernandez scored both of Lynwood's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Lynwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for Paramount, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lynwood will venture away from home to challenge Warren at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lynwood surely won't give up without a fight. Paramount has already played their next contest (against Downey), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
