Softball Recap: Clifton Comes Up Short

Clifton lost against Passaic Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs lost 19-5 to the Hornets. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Josephine Zagorski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Casey Mullen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Clifton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Passaic Valley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clifton will face off against Bergen Tech at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Passaic Valley, they will take on Morristown at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
