HAMILTON, Ala. -
Hamilton (Ala.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 26-6 victory over
Haleyville (Ala.) on Saturday.
The Aggies were up 20-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Mitch Stults in the first quarter.
Both teams scored six points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 20 entering the fourth.
Quinton May played well for Hamilton in the victory. He ran for two touchdowns.
Dakota Rushing made a difference for the Lions. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Haleyville's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Rushing in the third quarter.
The Aggies entered the contest giving up 20.8 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Lions well below their season average of 30.8 points scored per game.
The Aggies also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-13.
The loss comes after Haleyville defeated West Limestone 29-7 last week. The loss snapped Haleyville's 3-game winning streak.
Hamilton (10-0) will play a non-conference game against Colbert County next week. The Indians go into the week with a record of 6-3.
