Softball Recap: Glenbrook South Comes Up Short

Glenbrook South duked it out with Highland Park in a Mythical Matchup on Tuesday. The Titans fell just short of the Giants by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Giants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in April.

Glenbrook South saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Buckingham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Glenbrook South and nudges their season record down to 4-20. As for Highland Park, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Glenbrook South and Highland Park could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Titans (ranked 411th) will meet Glenbrook North (ranked 188th) at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Highland Park will challenge New Trier at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (252 vs. 109).
