Alcovy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Newton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Alcovy Tigers' way against the Newton Rams on Tuesday as the Alcovy Tigers made off with a 6-1 victory. It was an even better day for Zariah Strozier as she scored four goals for her team.

Alcovy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Alcovy and Newton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Alcovy (ranked 174th) will meet Habersham Central (ranked 42nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcovy has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Meanwhile, Newton will take on Grovetown at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 148 places (272 vs. 124).
