27 must be Questa's lucky number: they beat Mesa Vista with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 27-4 margin over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Carlos Ortega made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Questa's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 4-2 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Ortega was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and four runs. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had over his last ten games.

In other batting news, Questa got a massive performance out of Aliyah Santistevan, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Santistevan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Questa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.4.

Questa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Mesa Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.
