Softball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Wimberley Texans

The Bandera BULLDOGS will square off against the Wimberley Texans at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Bandera has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 15.

Friday just wasn't the day for Bandera's offense. They came up short against Fredericksburg on Friday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Wimberley made easy work of Canyon Lake on Friday and carried off a 9-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Texans in their matchups with Canyon Lake: they've now won five in a row.

Grace Strobel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella P, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Bailey Wright was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bandera's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Wimberley, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-13.

Bandera suffered a grim 19-4 defeat to Wimberley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Bandera avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
