Football Recap: Starmount Rams vs. Ashe County Huskies

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Starmount). Their defense stepped up to hand the Ashe County Huskies a 56-0 shutout on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Huskies are ranked 320th).

Deuce Best was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 196 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. 91 of Best's passing yards were hauled in by Aamir Adams, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 20 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ryley Rodriguez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
