Basketball Recap: Murrah Comes Up Short

Murrah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They came up short against the Germantown Mavericks, falling 69-43. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-38 back in January.

It was another big night for Charlie Gamberine, who went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points for Germantown. The match was Gamberine's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayla Benson, who posted 13 points.

Murrah's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Germantown, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.

Murrah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Germantown, they will square off against Madison Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Germantown is facing Madison Central at the right time seeing as Madison Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
