Basketball Game Preview: Riverton Rams vs. Southeast Lancers

Riverton is on a eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Southeast is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Riverton Rams will host the Southeast Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Riverton got the win against Columbus by a conclusive 40-17. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Southeast hadn't done well against St. Paul recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Southeast sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 39-37 victory over St. Paul.

Riverton better keep an eye on Teagan Warner. She was instrumental in Southeast's win, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Warner a new career-high in blocks (three).

Southeast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.

Southeast is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Riverton, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Riverton barely slipped by Southeast in their previous meeting back in January, winning 26-25. Does Riverton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southeast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
