Basketball Recap: Mckinley Has No Trouble Against Norton

There's no place like home for McKinley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Sunday. Everything went their way against the Norton Panthers on Monday as the McKinley Bulldogs made off with a 61-35 victory. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Mya Taylor was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. Sha'Rayla Hall was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven boards and three steals.

McKinley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

McKinley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Norton, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

McKinley will venture away from home to take on GlenOak at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McKinley is facing GlenOak at the right time seeing as GlenOak is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Norton will take on Wadsworth in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd.
