Basketball Recap: Park Rapids Takes a Loss

Park Rapids was the 79-73 winner over East Grand Forks when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Park Rapids Panthers lost to the East Grand Forks Green Wave on the road by a 84-66 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Green Wave are ranked 70th).

Despite the loss, Park Rapids still got an impressive performance from Ryan Carroll, who posted 21 points and six boards. Carroll is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Hunter, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Park Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for East Grand Forks, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-9 record.

Park Rapids has already played their next match, an 82-80 win against Frazee on the 25th. East Grand Forks has also already played their next game (against Barnesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
