Spring Hill had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Van Alstyne a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering Spring Hill has won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Spring Hill's 16th in a row) raised their record to 30-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Van Alstyne, they moved to 15-13 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Spring Hill will have a chance to go back-to-back against Van Alstyne: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
