Basketball Recap: Olmsted Falls' Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Avon Lake last Saturday, Olmsted Falls came back down to earth. The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs fell 86-76 to the Berea-Midpark Titans on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were up 27-11 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Berea-Midpark was led to victory by Nick Reece and Manny Santiago. Reece went 8 for 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Santiago went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. The match was Reece's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Clay, who posted 12 points and eight assists.

With the loss, Olmsted Falls broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Berea-Midpark, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olmsted Falls will welcome Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season. As for Berea-Midpark, they will square off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Elyria sitting on four straight victories and Berea-Midpark on three.
