Volleyball Recap: A.C. Reynolds Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Buncombe last Thursday, A.C. Reynolds came back down to earth. The Rockets fell 3-1 to the Asheville Cougars on Tuesday. Rockets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cougars since Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 11-25, 25-19.

Asheville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elyse Burchfield out in front who had 19 assists and four digs. Burchfield is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Poppy Jones, who had six digs and two aces.

A.C. Reynolds' defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Asheville, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road.

As of now, neither A.C. Reynolds nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
