Baseball Game Preview: Tyrone Golden Eagles vs. Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils

The Tyrone Golden Eagles will head out to square off against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tyrone will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Monday, Tyrone beat Mount Union 8-3.

Eli Woomer looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, A Walk and L Hamer did most of the damage at the plate: Walk went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Hamer went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Hamer's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of G Miller, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Tyrone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis didn't have quite enough to beat Bald Eagle Area on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellwood-Antis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Swogger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Bellwood-Antis now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Tyrone, their record now sits at 8-4.

Tyrone skirted past Bellwood-Antis 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
