Baseball Recap: Mariner Tritons vs. LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls
Mariner blew LaBelle out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday LaBelle got their revenge. The Mariner Tritons fell just short of the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls by a score of 7-5. The Tritons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys/Cowgirls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mariner got a good showing from Jael Lawton, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Lawton posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, Mariner saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Gorra, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Gorra launched this season. Colin Raftery was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Mariner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for LaBelle, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
Mariner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Ida Baker on the 14th. LaBelle will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th.
