Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Prep Jesuits vs. Bishop Hendricken Hawks

The Fairfield Prep Jesuits will head out to square off against the Bishop Hendricken Hawks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last four games Fairfield Prep has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fairfield Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Ludlowe.

Fairfield Prep let Jack Nolan and Nick Tamborrino run wild. Nolan scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Tamborrino scored a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Ventrelle, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hendricken strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Toll Gate get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Bishop Hendricken's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Fairfield Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
