Softball Recap: Green Sea Floyds Comes Up Short

Green Sea Floyds lost against Georgetown back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Green Sea Floyds Trojans fell 7-3 to the Georgetown Bulldogs. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maci Collins put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

In other batting news, Claire Stroud was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Blair Elliott was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Green Sea Floyds now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Georgetown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Green Sea Floyds will challenge Loris at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Loris' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Green Sea Floyds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Georgetown, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-1 victory against Timberland on the 8th.
