Volleyball Game Preview: East Union Lancers vs. Manteca Buffaloes

East Union is 0-6 against Manteca since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. East Union will take on Manteca at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Patterson came into Monday's match looking for another win against East Union, but Isaac Serrato wouldn't allow it. East Union was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Patterson on Monday with plenty of help from Serrato, who had four digs and four aces. He has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times he's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Manteca posted their closest victory since April 19, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mountain House 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (99-97) Manteca actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 13-25, 15-11.

East Union is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Manteca's record is now 10-4.

East Union couldn't quite get it done against Manteca in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Manteca's Mark Bondoc, who had 13 digs and four aces.
