Recap: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Manti Templars
The North Sanpete Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Manti at home by a decisive 62-48 margin. While losing is never fun, North Sanpete can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Manti is ranked 30th).
North Sanpete lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being McKay Schlappi, who scored seven points along with five steals. Cole Cook was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
North Sanpete has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Manti, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Sanpete will square off against Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Emery has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three matches. As for Manti, they will head out on the road to square off against Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Austin Park and Reggie Frischknecht.
