Softball Recap: Crockett County's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Tournament Opponent on Thursday, Crockett County came back down to earth. Crockett County fell 10-5 to the Andrean Fighting 59ers on Friday. The Cavaliers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Crockett County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Thornton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Thornton a new career-high. Another was Maddie Haynes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Crockett County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matches.

Crockett County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Andrean, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Crockett County has already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Dunlap on the 29th. As for Andrean, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Gordonsville on the 28th.
