Softball Game Preview: Riverdale Rams vs. Manteno Panthers

The Riverdale Rams will face off against the Manteno Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Riverdale's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Hall as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brooklyn Peterson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Amaya Lopez-Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Riverdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Manteno faced off against Herscher on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 10-8. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 23-2-1. As for Manteno, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.
