It was a good run, but Ridgeway unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 52-28 to the Kirby Cougars. The Roadrunners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 44-40.

When it comes to explaining why Ridgeway lost, don't look at Le'Khya Gray. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Crosby, who scored four points.

Ridgeway's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-8. As for Kirby, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeway will head out to take on Melrose at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kirby, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Kirby Cougars challenge the Hamilton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
