After a string of four wins, Voorheesville's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Schalmont Sabres by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blackbirds have suffered since April 14th.

Voorheesville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Schmidt, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Schmidt's first of the season.

Voorheesville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Schalmont, their record now sits at 14-5.

Looking ahead, Voorheesville will square off against Schoharie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Schalmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
