Football Game Preview: Davenport West Falcons vs. Clinton River Kings + How To Watch

The Davenport West Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Clinton River Kings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Davenport West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Davenport North on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Falcons were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Wildcats are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Western Dubuque, falling 54-0.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Davenport West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Davenport West didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Clinton when the teams last played back in August of 2022, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the River Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
