Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Eminence's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Eminence won the last time they faced Greenwood Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Eels were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Eels, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Emmalin Dittemore was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Marriah Hamblen, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Eminence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .316.

Eminence is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9.

Looking ahead, Eminence will look to defend their home field on Monday against Providence Cristo Rey at 5:30 p.m. The Eels are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they have already played their next game, a 12-11 loss against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on the 10th.
