Softball Game Preview: Manchester Panthers vs. South Range Raiders

The Manchester Panthers will take on the South Range Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Manchester sitting on seven straight wins and South Range on nine.

Manchester is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let LaBrae get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Rachel Baker's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alli Hodgkinson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lilly Konen was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Manchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LaBrae only posted a batting average of .185.

Meanwhile, South Range posted their closest win since May 1st on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Champion 1-0.

Manchester's record is now 24-5. As for South Range, their record now sits at 23-9.
