Recap: Kansas City Christian School Panthers vs. Iola Mustangs
The Kansas City Christian School Panthers lost against the Iola Mustangs back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Kansas City Christian School falling 62-43. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Iola is ranked 17th).
Cortland Carson was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Iola's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Weide, who scored 13 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
Kansas City Christian School now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Iola, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Kansas City Christian School will be playing at home against Heritage Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Heritage Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. Iola's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Franklin.
