Basketball Recap: Appleton North Comes Up Short

Appleton North lost against Kimberly back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lightning had to suffer through a 75-48 loss at the hands of the Papermakers.

Appleton North's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Kimberly, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Appleton North and Kimberly should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Lightning (ranked 35th) will meet Oshkosh North (ranked 301st) at 7:15 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Meanwhile, Kimberly will take on Appleton West at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (29 vs. 347).
