While Mayo's victory against Owatonna wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans won by a run and slipped past the Huskies 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since April 4th.

Mayo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Owatonna, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Coincidentally, Mayo and Owatonna will both be playing Mankato East the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Huskies will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
