Basketball Recap: Western International Comes Up Short

Western International was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southeastern Jungaleers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cowboys have suffered since February 26, 2024.

Western International's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Southeastern, with the win, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-12.

Western International will face off against Renaissance at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Renaissance knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Western International likes a good challenge. As for Southeastern, they will be playing at home against New Standard Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
